Operations Officer

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with customs regulations- To meet required internal and external KPIs.
• Correspond with customs/other government agencies as required in a timely manner- To keep up to date on all regulatory requirements governing imports
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities and other government agencies
• Be responsible for arranging and completing all associated paperwork, which documents the nature of the goods being imported and that they are legal and legitimate
• Ensuring all is in order in relation to import quotas, tariffs, trade agreements and Customs regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum of OND in Logistics, Purchasing and Supply or any related discipline
• Minimum of 3- 5 years cognate experience in airfreight clearing, logistics & supply chain• Ability to work to deadline in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer literate, vibrant and resourceful.
• Ability to manage deadlines and sometimes difficult situations in order to be able to meet timescales
• Should be familiar with clearing activities at the airport
• Candidate should be smart and intelligent
• Experience in general port operations, including customs processing, delivery, documentation, and tariff interpretation from reputable organisation.
• Knowledge of flight schedules, freight tariffs and rates, ability to raise and complete documentation.
• Strong communication and administrative skills.
• proximity to the airport is an advantage.
