Join Nigeria’s Climate-Smart Agriculture Programme as an Agronomic Intern! Are you an agricultural graduate or student passionate about sustainable farming? CSV-P Edo is looking for a motivated Agronomic Intern to work on a demonstration farm in Edo State.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily crop monitoring and record plant growth and pest/disease signs
- Perform soil health testing (basal, mid-season, final assessments)
- Document all farm inputs and maintain input records (fertilizer, seeds, pesticides)
- Scout for pests and diseases; prepare weekly pest/disease reports
- Coordinate and assist with BioSAT demonstrations for farmers
- Collect climate and yield data for CSV-P baseline reporting
- Prepare monthly technical reports and data summaries
- Train and guide farm workers on climate-smart practices
- Support farmer field schools (FFS) activities and demonstration sessions
Requirements:
- Currently a student or recent graduate with ND/HND/BSc in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, or Agricultural Technology
- Strong interest in climate-smart agriculture and sustainable farming
- Good writing skills (you’ll write reports monthly)
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, WhatsApp, email)
- Communication skills (comfort presenting to farmers)
- Local knowledge of Edo State a plus
- Committed to hands-on farm work (not office-only)
