Job summary
The Agricultural Science Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Agricultural Science by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications. The teacher plans, prepares, and implements engaging lessons that align with the approved curriculum and examination requirements, while fostering students’ interest in school. Planning, delivering, and assessing effective instruction in Agricultural Science in line with the approved curriculum. The teacher equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in agriculture, agribusiness, environmental sustainability, and food production, while fostering interest in agriculture as a viable career and means of national development.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured lessons in Agricultural Science in accordance with the school curriculum and examination syllabi (e.g., WAEC/NECO/IGCSE where applicable).
- Teach both theoretical and practical components of Agricultural Science, including crop production, animal husbandry, soil science, agricultural economics, fisheries, and forestry.
- Use learner-centered and practical teaching methods such as demonstrations, fieldwork, experiments, projects, and farm visits.
- Integrate modern agricultural practices and basic agricultural technology into lessons.
- Prepare students adequately for internal and external examinations.
