A&E Nurse

Responsibilities:

• Assessment: A&E nurses quickly assess patients upon their arrival, determining the severity of their condition and prioritizing care based on the urgency of their needs.
• Triage: They perform triage, which involves categorizing patients based on the urgency of their condition, ensuring that those with life-threatening injuries or illnesses receive immediate attention.
• Treatment: A&E nurses administer medications, perform procedures, and provide treatments as directed by physicians, such as wound care, IV therapy, and pain management.
• Monitoring: They continuously monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Communication: A&E nurses communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and efficient care delivery.
• Documentation: They accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in medical records, maintaining thorough and up-to-date documentation of patient care.
• Education: A&E nurses educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions, empowering them to participate in their own care and make informed decisions.
• Teamwork: They collaborate closely with physicians, other nurses, technicians, and ancillary staff to provide comprehensive care and support in a fast-paced and often high stress environment.
• Adaptability: A&E nurses must be adaptable and able to respond quickly to changing patient needs, emergent situations, and fluctuations in patient volume.
