Role Description The Administrative Assistant volunteer role is an on-site position based in Awka. This role supports daily office operations, including managing correspondence, organizing files, and maintaining records related to training sessions, farm services, and consultancy activities. The Administrative Assistant will handle phone calls, greet visitors, schedule meetings, and assist with basic documentation and data entry. The role also involves coordinating logistics for events, workshops, and field activities, and providing general administrative support to team members. As a volunteer, the Administrative Assistant will contribute to the smooth running of the organization while gaining exposure to agricultural initiatives and community-focused work.

Qualifications

  • Strong administrative assistance and clerical skills, including organizing documents, managing schedules, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills for handling calls, responding to inquiries, and interacting with visitors and team members.
  • Experience or comfort supporting executives or team leads with executive administrative assistance tasks such as meeting coordination and follow-up.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Awka and collaborate with a diverse team of young farmers and professionals.
  • Interest in agriculture, community development, or social impact initiatives is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in an administrative or office support role is beneficial but not mandatory.
