Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Process and record customer receipts, vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and other financial transactions accurately and promptly.  
  • Prepare customer invoices, monitor outstanding receivables, and follow up on payments when due. 
  • Compute, verify, and process weekly payouts to riders, drivers, and other business partners within the approved timeline. 
  • Review invoices, payment requests, and supporting documents, and investigate unusual charges, pricing errors, or discrepancies. 
  • Manage petty cash disbursements, maintain proper supporting records, and reconcile the petty cash balance regularly. 
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records and ensure credits are correctly applied to customer and vendor accounts. 
  • Perform bank, ledger, vendor, and partner payout reconciliations and promptly resolve identified discrepancies. 
  • Support month-end closing by preparing schedules, reconciling balances, and confirming the accuracy and completeness of financial records. 
  • Prepare schedules for tax payments and statutory remittances and liaise with relevant authorities, including LIRS and FIRS, when required. 
  • Maintain updated vendor files, inventory records, and the company’s fixed asset register, and provide supporting documents for audits. 
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on payments, receivables, partner payouts, cash, reconciliations, and outstanding financial matters.   


Requirements:

  • An HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields.  
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role. 
  • Practical experience in accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, petty cash, and financial reporting. 
  • Experience computing high-volume payments or payouts to riders, drivers, vendors, or other business partners is an advantage. 
  • Good knowledge of Nigerian taxation, statutory remittances, financial regulations, and basic accounting principles. 
  • Experience using accounting software, enterprise resource planning systems, or other financial platforms. 
  • Strong numerical, analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet strict payment and report deadlines. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity, discretion, and confidentiality. 
  • A dependable, accountable, organized, and results-driven approach to work.
