Job summary

Responsible for managing accounting records, preparing financial statements and partnership accounts, including partners’ capital and current accounts, profit-sharing and related adjustments. The role also involves reconciliations, transaction processing, financial reporting and compliance, using QuickBooks, Tally and Excel.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
  • Prepare and review partnership accounts.
  • Prepare periodic financial statements, management accounts, schedules, and other financial reports.
  • Record and process invoices, receipts, payments, expenses, journals, and other accounting transactions.
  • Perform bank, cash, receivables, payables, and other account reconciliations.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and working papers for financial reporting and audit purposes.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audit, tax, and other financial reporting engagements by providing accurate accounting records and relevant documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting records and supporting documents.
  • Use accounting software, including QuickBooks and Tally, to process transactions and generate financial reports.
  • Identify accounting discrepancies and resolve or escalate them appropriately.
  • Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and other financial analysis as required.
  • Ensure compliance with the Firm's accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Liaise with clients, auditors, tax authorities, and other relevant stakeholders where required.
  • Perform other accounting and financial duties as may be assigned.


Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant accounting experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in partnership accounts and partner-related transactions is required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks and Tally).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
  • Experience preparing financial statements and accounting schedules.
  • Professional qualification or membership of ICAN, ACCA, or another recognised accounting body will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively in a professional services environment.
