Job Summary

AP3 Capital is a specialist professional services and portfolio management firm that delivers a range of Business Assurance Services, Transaction Advisory Services, Policy & Research, and Investment Portfolio Management services. We need an experienced Accountant to support our commitment to building on recent successes, by shaping and optimizing our operational strategy and delivery processes to enable us to continue to compete and win in the sectors and markets we are active in.

Job Description/Requirements


  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements according to GAAP, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, to meet deadlines.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, and provide variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, investigate, and resolve discrepancies, and implement financial controls.
  • Ensure proper recognition of revenue and compliance with revenue recognition policies and guidelines
  • Analyze costs, profitability, and variances to identify areas for cost efficiency improvement.
  • Support tax planning and compliance activities, including processing remittances, preparing returns, managing provisions, and communicating with tax authorities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate external audits, provide support for audit inquiries, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and operations, to provide financial support.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate financial information to management Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency within the finance function.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, promoting their professional growth.
  • Develop and contribute thought leadership content related to accounting and finance for our LinkedIn presence.
  • Stay up to date on accounting regulations and best practices

Operations and Business Development

  • Support business development efforts by leveraging financial expertise to drive new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with associate partner firms, key agencies, and clients that act as introducers or sources of routine opportunities and consultancy assignments.
  • Contribute to solution-oriented culture and client-centric orientation across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Work with service leads to proactively develop and execute business development strategies, to grow revenue and achieve targeted results.
  • Organize market engagement events and moments that build and leverage brand value
  • Promote a learning culture, sales orientation, and excellent client service delivery across the company, supporting and educating staff on best practices and techniques to increase the effectiveness of business development activities.
  • Analyze market trends and competitors to identify growth opportunities for AP3 Capital. Develop and manage client relationships.


  • Minimum BSc. degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Qualified accountant (ICAN/ACCA/ACA) with demonstrable experience of 5+ years.
  • 5+ years in the professional services industry; experience in sales, bid, and proposal development an added advantage.
  • Experience working with finance systems (e.g. Capium, QuickBooks).
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically in Excel, macros, data analysis, and pivot tables.
  • Extensive financial statement modeling experience.
  • Ability to problem-solve, both autonomously and within teams.
  • Strong ability to build and grow an opportunity pipeline.
  • High integrity and natural desire to assume responsibility.
  • Proven ability to establish and build client relationships and engage and grow a network of stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of relevant document processing software for documents, presentations, marketing, research, and analysis (MS Office applications – Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Strong project and people management experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
