Accountant

Responsibilities:

Inventory & Cost Accounting:

• ​Maintain accurate inventory records, performing reconciliations between physical counts and system balances.
• ​Calculate and analyse the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and inventory valuation adjustments (e.g., shrinkage, obsolescence).
• ​Track and analyse operational expenses related to distribution, warehousing, and logistics.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.

Tax & Compliance:

• ​Assist with the preparation of state and federal tax filings, including sales and use tax for retail operations.
• Participate in internal and external audits as required.

Financial Record Management:

• Manage the general ledger and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate allocation to appropriate accounts.

Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Oversee and process invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
• Manage customer billing, collections, and application of customer payments.

Requirements:

• HND/B.Sc in Accounting
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting & reconciliation
