Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial transactions.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, budgets, and financial performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and CBN regulatory requirements.
• Monitor cash flow, income, expenses, and financial controls to safeguard the bank’s assets.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Oversee tax computations, statutory deductions, and timely filing of relevant returns.
• Develop and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal control systems.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records in line with the bank’s operational requirements.

Requirements:

• Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAN or ACCA).
• Must have relevant experience working in a microfinance bank or the microfinance banking sector.
• A degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is required.
• Must have proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, and team leadership.
• Good knowledge of banking operations, financial controls, and applicable CBN regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• High levels of integrity, accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Must reside in or around Apapa, Lagos, or be able to commute conveniently to the location.

Location: Apapa, Lagos

Remuneration: NGN 450,000 – 500,000 Monthly
