Job summary
The Accountant (Microfinance Bank) will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing reconciliations, supporting budgeting activities, and strengthening financial controls within the microfinance bank.

Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting:
- Maintain accurate accounting records and process daily financial transactions.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and maintain the general ledger.
- Monitor income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and capital accounts.
Reconciliation & Controls:
- Perform bank, customer, loan, and investment reconciliations.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to internal financial controls.
Compliance & Audit:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and microfinance banking requirements.
- Support internal/external audits and preparation of regulatory reports.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis:
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and financial analysis.
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions.
Treasury & Risk Management:
- Process payments and financial transactions while ensuring proper approvals.
- Monitor liquidity and identify financial risks or control gaps.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- ACA, ACCA, ICAN, or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
- 2–5 years’ accounting experience, preferably within a microfinance bank, bank, or financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, regulatory compliance, and Microsoft Excel.
