Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the organisation's accounting system
- Prepare monthly management accounts including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions and perform regular reconciliations
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements and resolve outstanding items
- Compute and remit monthly PAYE, VAT, withholding tax, pension, and NSITF contributions within statutory deadlines
- Maintain the fixed asset register and compute depreciation in line with company policy
- Coordinate and support the annual external audit, preparing all required audit schedules
- Prepare quarterly budget-versus-actual variance analyses and report key findings to management
- Liaise with banks, FIRS, and other regulatory bodies on routine financial and compliance matters
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard company assets
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
- ICAN Associate member or active ICAN/ACCA student with significant examinations completed
- Minimum of 4-7 years of relevant accounting experience in a structured organization
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, including CITA, PITA, and the VAT Act
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial modelling
- Thorough understanding of FIRS as applicable to financial statement preparation
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously without compromising quality
Remuneration: NGN 350,000 – 500,000 Monthly
