Job summary
We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Chartered Accountant to oversee the company’s financial operations, accounting processes, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.

Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain proper records of all income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and transactions.
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, expenditures, and financial commitments.
- Prepare and analyze management accounts and financial reports.
- Develop and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts and company records.
- Establish and maintain strong financial controls to prevent errors, fraud, and financial leakages.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian tax and financial regulations.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and relevant regulatory authorities when required.
- Coordinate tax preparation, filings, and other statutory financial obligations.
- Review financial transactions and ensure proper authorization and documentation.
- Provide management with financial analysis, insights, and recommendations.
- Support management in investment, budgeting, cost-control, and business planning decisions.
- Supervise and mentor accounting/finance team members.
- Ensure financial records are properly organized and readily available for audits and management review.
- Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Implement and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal control systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ICAN certification/membership is mandatory.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Previous experience in the real estate, construction, investment, or property sector is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards, taxation, and statutory requirements.
- Proven experience preparing financial statements and management accounts.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash-flow management, reconciliation, and financial analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.

- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.
- Timely completion of bank and account reconciliations.
- Effective cash-flow management.
- Accurate and timely statutory/tax compliance.
- Reduction of financial discrepancies and leakages.
- Budget adherence and cost control.
- Timely collection and reconciliation of receivables.
- Successful completion of internal and external audits.
- Accuracy and completeness of financial records.
