Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with local regulations and accounting standards.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, and monitor actual performance against these financial plans.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and other statutory deductions, while staying updated on changes in tax laws.
  • Audit Coordination: Facilitate internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and implementing audit recommendations.
  • Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll functions, including computation of salaries, deductions, and statutory remittances.
  • Accounts Receivable/Payable: Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to support management decision-making.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity of financial data.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain accounting systems and software, ensuring data integrity and security.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification such as Chartered Accountant (ICAN) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
  •  3-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Integrity and ethical conduct in handling sensitive financial information.
