Job Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring effective bookkeeping, monitoring farm expenditure, and supporting internal control at the farm estate location in Iguelaba, Edo State. The role ensures timely recording of all farm financial transactions, assists with vendor and procurement reconciliations.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Maintain day-to-day accounting records (Petty cash register, Stock register, Invoicing etc).
- Record and reconcile all farm income and expenditure promptly.
- Manage payroll (Wages) for farm staff (attendance data collation, deductions and payment).
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly farm financial reports for review by the Finance Manager.
- Ensure all farm transactions are backed by adequate documentation (receipts, invoices, vouchers).
- Monitor budget implementation and report variances.
- Handle petty cash disbursements in line with approval limits.
- Reconcile farm bank transactions and submit supporting schedules.
- Ensure proper safekeeping of vouchers, receipts, and financial records.
- Work closely with the procurement team to verify vendor invoices against approved purchase orders and goods received notes.
- Maintain records of input stocks (seedlings, piggery items, chemicals, feed, etc.) and reconcile with storekeeper records.
- Ensure correct authorization for stock issuance and stock movements – in and out of the farm.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, financial procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Support periodic internal reviews of activities
- Flag irregularities, unauthorized expenditures, or control lapses to the Finance Manager.
Requirements:
- B.Sc./HND in Accounting or Finance related Field
- Must be a Chartered Accountant.
- 7–10 years’ relevant experience in accounting or book-keeping (agribusiness/farm experience is an added advantage).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems).
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and basic regulatory compliance.
- Attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a farm environment.
- Good communication skills and willingness to reside or frequently be on-site at the farm.
