Job summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant (Chartered) to oversee the organization’s financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. He/she will be responsible for managing accounting processes, supervising financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Track all revenues and costs and provide detailed gross profit analysis per business unit on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Process all invoices and billings, ensuring accurate and timely capture in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Record and post daily financial transactions into appropriate ledgers, ensuring proper documentation and filing.
  • Manage and reconcile Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including timely follow-ups and reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Perform monthly journal entries, adjustments, and maintain an up-to-date fixed asset register.
  • Oversee statutory remittances, including VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), PAYE, and Pensions, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Lead and coordinate internal audits, statutory audits, and tax compliance activities.
  • Develop and manage the organization’s annual budget, including forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal control policies.
  • Provide financial insights and reports to support management decision-making.
  • Supervise and guide junior accounting staff where applicable.


Requirements:

  • Must be a Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory).
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax regulations, and compliance requirements (especially within Nigeria).
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (or similar ERP systems).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
