Job summary
An Account Officer manages an organization’s daily financial transactions, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking. They ensure compliance with financial regulations, assist in preparing financial reports, and maintain accurate records.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Bookkeeping: Accurately record daily financial transactions, incoming payments, and outgoing expenses.
- Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable, process invoices, and perform bank reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with month-end/year-end closing procedures and prepare financial reports for management.
- Compliance: Ensure all records and processes comply with financial regulations and tax laws (e.g., VAT, WHT).
- Administrative Support: Maintain financial databases, manage petty cash, and support audits.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- Experience: Proven work experience of at least 3 years as an Accounting Officer, Account Clerk, or similar role.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software like QuickBooks or SAP.
- Competencies: Strong mathematical skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential data.
