The Accounts Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and reliable financial records of the organization. The role focuses on timely reconciliation of bank, vendor, customer, intercompany, and general ledger accounts

- Process vendor invoices and code transactions in line with company policies.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Cross-check invoices with payment records and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Track accounts payable and receivable balances and flag irregularities to the CFO.

- Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly bank statements against company records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform periodic reconciliations of vendor and customer accounts to ensure that invoices, credit notes, and payments are accurately captured.
- Liaise with vendors, customers, and relevant internal departments to resolve reconciliation issues.
- Maintain up-to-date records of reconciliations for audit and reporting purposes.
- Reconcile intercompany balances and ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately in both entities’ books.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to supporting schedules and identify any irregularities.
- Ensure adjustments are posted correctly after approval.
- Maintain proper documentation for all reconciliations performed, ensuring they are audit-ready at all times.
- Prepare reconciliation reports and summaries for management review periodically.
- Highlight trends, issues, or recurring discrepancies and propose process improvements.
- Ensure reconciliations are carried out in line with the organization’s financial policies and procedures.
- Support external and internal audit activities by providing relevant reconciliation reports and documentation.
- Escalate significant unresolved variances to the Chief Financial Officer promptly.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve variances or discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor unposted or outstanding transactions and ensure timely follow-up.
- Any other duty as may be assigned by your line manager.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience
- A minimum of an HND in a related field
