Account Officer
Job summary
The Account Officer is responsible for managing the organization’s financial records, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, monitoring transactions, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. The role involves preparing financial reports, handling payments and receipts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and journals
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements and cashbooks
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, and receipts
- Ensure timely processing of salaries, statutory deductions, and remittances (PAYE, pensions, etc.)
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Maintain proper filing of accounting documents and financial records
- Support budgeting, financial planning, and expense tracking
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with auditors, banks, and relevant regulatory bodies when required
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Requirements:
- HND / B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1–3 years relevant accounting or finance experience (entry-level roles may accept NYSC experience)
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
