Account Executive
Job summary
The Account Executive is responsible for supporting the bank's financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, managing reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger postings, and perform daily reconciliations of bank accounts, payment gateways, wallets, and other digital transaction channels.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and support regulatory returns, statutory audits, and compliance with CBN, NDIC, and IFRS requirements.
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax obligations, including VAT, WHT, CIT, and PAYE, while maintaining compliance with applicable tax regulations.
- Support treasury operations by monitoring cash flow, liquidity, settlements, working capital, and bank balances to ensure efficient financial management.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including vendor payments, staff reimbursements, intercompany reconciliations, and lending portfolio reconciliations.
- Maintain strong financial controls, support audit remediation efforts, update financial policies and SOPs, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with Operations, Product, and Engineering teams by providing financial analysis and supporting business initiatives, pricing, and profitability decisions.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and digital banking standards while supporting management with accurate financial insights.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, or CIBN are preferred.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in finance or accounting within the banking, fintech, or financial services industry.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, treasury support, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, CBN regulations, tax compliance, digital financial systems, and payment transaction flows.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting audits, maintaining financial controls, and implementing process improvements.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced digital banking environment.
