Job summary
We are seeking an Academic Affairs Officer (Automotive Technology Training School) responsible for coordinating and maintaining the academic standards. The role ensures effective curriculum delivery, instructor performance, student progression, assessment integrity, and compliance with internal and external training standards. Serves as the link between management, instructors, students, and accrediting or industry bodies.

Responsibilities:
Academic Planning & Curriculum Coordination
- Coordinate implementation of approved curricula across all Academy programmes.
- Ensure training content aligns with current automotive industry standards (ICE, EV, diagnostics, CNG, safety).
- Review and recommend updates to curricula based on industry trends and feedback.
- Ensure lesson plans, practical schedules, and assessment timelines are adhered to.
Instructor Coordination & Performance Monitoring
- Coordinate instructor schedules, class allocations, and teaching plans.
- Monitor instructor delivery quality, punctuality, and adherence to the curriculum.
- Organise instructor briefings, academic meetings, and continuous improvement sessions.
- Maintain instructor academic records and teaching evaluations.
Student Academic Management
- Monitor student attendance, participation, and academic progression.
- Coordinate assessments, examinations, and practical evaluations.
- Ensure timely grading, documentation, and feedback to students.
- Identify students requiring academic support and coordinate interventions.
Assessment, Certification & Records
- Coordinate preparation, administration, and documentation of assessments.
- Ensure the integrity and standardisation of examinations and practical tests.
- Manage academic records, including results, transcripts, and certification eligibility.
- Coordinate issuance of certificates in line with completion and competency standards.
Academic Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal academic policies and SOPs.
- Support accreditation, inspections, and audits by regulatory or industry bodies (e.g. NBTE, NADDC, OEM partners).
- Maintain accurate academic documentation for quality assurance reviews.
- Implement corrective actions from audit findings and academic reviews.
Academic Reporting & Management Support
- Prepare weekly and monthly academic performance reports.
- Track programme completion rates, assessment outcomes, and instructor performance metrics.
- Provide data and insights to the Business Manager and MD for strategic decisions.
- Support the development of new programmes, short courses, and certifications.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Minimum of a BSc.
- Strong academic coordination and organisational skills
- Understanding of the vocational and technical education frameworks
- Knowledge of automotive training and competency-based learning
- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination
- Analytical and reporting skill
