We provide comprehensive management and scientific services for more than 600 basic, clinical and applied research projects conducted around the globe. We also support continuing medical education programs for more than 160 military medical research and treatment facilities, and military medical organizations.

 

Job Description

This position is located in Nigeria.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) is seeking an Office Manager for the U.S. Military HIV Research Program(USMHRP) located in Nigeria. HJF provides administrative and management support to USMHRP. USMHRP is dedicated to HIV vaccine development, prevention, disease surveillance and care and treatment for HIV. This program builds on the strength of the U.S. military medical research community, and addresses specific HIV research requirements to meet its mission: prevention of HIV-1 disease in the active force and, by extension, the global community at risk of infection.

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the U.S. Department of Defense HIV/AIDS program in Nigeria. They will provide guidance in the following areas: operations/procedures, communications, IT, finance, and human resources. They will work closely with the Country Director and the program manager for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

Responsibilities:

1. Provide support for MHRP and PEPFAR research projects and IT and financial support when needed

2. Oversee monthly and quarterly assessments and provide budget support

3. Supervise all general services, contracting and grants, and finance teams

4. Develop operating procedures for the office

5. Exercise purchase and payment authority within the guidelines of the Country Director and Henry Jackson Foundation (HJF) leadership

6. Assist in all public relations / recruitment activities as needed

 

Requirements

Minimum Education: Masters Degree in Business Management, International Operations, or related fields

Minimum Experience: 5 years experience managing complex, multi-sector programs with two years managing U.S. Government grants and contracts

Required Knowledge and Skills: Must be very organized, able to work under pressure, and meet multiple deadlines; succeed in a team environment; possess superior analytical, oral, and written skills; willing to travel frequently; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software
