Company Description

Ladies Empowerment Goals and Support Initiative (LEGASI) is a women-led, national non-profit organization headquartered in Kaduna, Nigeria. LEGASI focuses on grassroots peacebuilding, economic empowerment, and human rights advocacy. Aligned with global frameworks like Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS), LEGASI takes a comprehensive approach to leadership development, the empowerment of the "Girl Child," and conflict transformation. With strong collaborations with international organizations such as KAICIID, USAID, Peace Direct, and UN agencies, as well as partnerships with the Nigerian government, the organization delivers sustainable development and security solutions.


Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Volunteer role located in Kaduna. Volunteers will work closely with the LEGASI team to support initiatives related to grassroots peacebuilding, economic empowerment projects, and youth mentorship programs. Responsibilities include community engagement, project coordination, facilitating workshop sessions, assisting in advocacy efforts, and contributing to monitoring and evaluation efforts for various humanitarian and development projects.


Qualifications

  • Experience in advocacy, grassroots peacebuilding, or conflict resolution methodologies.
  • Strong communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management, coordination, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in research and analysis for human rights or developmental studies.
  • A demonstrated commitment to women and youth empowerment, mentorship, and leadership development.
  • Knowledge of the North West and North Central regions' social and cultural contexts is an advantage.
  • An educational background in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Flexibility to adapt and willingness to work in a dynamic and culturally diverse environment.
  • Fluency in the Hausa language is an advantage.
