We are looking to hire a suitable candidate to fill this position. The ideal candidate will provide quality pastoral care across various facets of the school and initiate relevant strategies, while ensuring that the approach to pastoral care is continually reviewed and developed, keeping abreast of key developments.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to promote the health, safety, physical, academic, spiritual, emotional and social wellbeing of the students. This involves the implementation of Child Protection, Anti-Bullying and Health and Safety policies
  • Oversee the behavior management procedures within the school, enforcing positive and professional culture within a disciplined environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the operations of the hostel are in line with international best practices and in consonance with the College mission of grooming the 21st century total child.
  • Responsible to ensure the excellent quality of delivery of kitchen, health and bus services.
  • Ensure that the counselling programme adequately addresses the emotional, social and psychological needs of the contemporary learner/child
  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of creative and innovative orientation programmes for new parents and students, in order to ensure that they are properly informed and integrated into the school system.
  • Supervise and support boarding house, kitchen, counselling, and medical staff, including their performance evaluation and professional development
  • In conjunction with the school’s leadership team establish effective communication channels and provide timely and accurate information to students and parents in relation to pastoral matters, student progress and school policies, address concerns inquiries, and monitor and respond to feedback from students and parents in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work with the School Leadership Team and relevant officers to ensure that the Student Leadership embody the college ethos and constitute a strong pillar of leadership for the entire student body.
  • Routinely obtain and analyze feedback from students, staff, parents and other members of the school community to support continuous development of pastoral and other programmes
  • Work with and supervise various coordinators in the design and implementation of Leadership/mentorship program, Entrepreneurship program, and other Co-curricular and Extra-curricular programmes to the end that the objectives of the various programmes are achieved in line with the school’s mission and expectation
  • Work closely with the school leadership on effective timetabling/scheduling of non-academic programmes, promoting opportunities and innovative programmes that enable students develop and exhibit social, personal, and other 21st century soft skills
  • Oversee the conduct of field trips, and its effective integration into academic and other programmes.
  • Create and maintain an effective partnership with parents to support and improve students’ achievement and personal development by ensuring that all parents are routinely updated on/informed about their children’s social interactions and development, contributions to the College community, interests and performance in non-academic activities.
  • To foster and maintain valuable partnerships within and outside the school community, that promote the objectives of non-academic programmes, and ensure proper documentation of such.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in school administration with at least 4 years of experience of which should be in the role of vice principal of a reputable secondary school.
