Job summary
A Thrift Collection Officer is responsible for mobilizing savings, collecting thrift contributions, and managing customer relationships for the organization The goal: Help customers build savings discipline while ensuring daily/weekly collections are complete, accurate, and safe.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Daily Collections: Visit assigned customers at homes, shops, and markets to collect daily, weekly, or monthly thrift contributions.
- Customer Acquisition: Onboard new thrift savers, explain savings plans, and grow the customer base in your assigned territory.
- Record Keeping: Accurately record all collections, issue receipts, and update savings ledgers/passbooks. Balance daily collection sheets.
- Remittance: Deposit all funds collected to the office/bank within the stipulated time. Ensure zero shortage.
- Customer Service: Educate customers on savings benefits, loan eligibility, and financial discipline. Handle complaints professionally.
- Loan Support: Identify customers eligible for loans based on savings history and refer them to the credit department.
- Reporting: Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on collections, new accounts, and customer feedback.
- Trustworthy & Honest: You handle cash daily

- Numerate Basic math + record keeping
