Telecom Civil Works Site Engineer

Location: Oluyole Extension, Ibadan

Salary: ₦250,000 - ₦350,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the civil works component of telecom site build projects from planning to final handover, ensuring all activities are executed to specification, on schedule & within budget
• Plan & design telecom site layouts, ensuring optimal positioning of BTS shelters, towers, equipment pads, cable routes & related infrastructure in line with technical standards
• Coordinate with local authorities to secure all required permits, approvals & documentation for excavation, tower installation & other civil works activities
• Supervise construction activities end-to-end — including site clearing, foundation works, trenching, tower erection, fencing, earthing systems & equipment base construction
• Ensure strict compliance with project drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, safety regulations & Nigerian construction codes
• Conduct routine site inspections to verify workmanship, resolve discrepancies promptly & implement corrective measures where necessary
• Liaise professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers & community representatives to ensure smooth project execution
• Prepare & update daily, weekly & monthly project progress reports, including site diaries, photographs, material usage & work completion records
• Maintain accurate documentation for each site — permits, approvals, test results, as-built drawings, snag lists & close-out reports
• Manage project budgets effectively — track expenses, verify contractor claims, prevent cost overruns & ensure cost-efficient resource utilization
• Identify project risks early, recommend mitigation strategies & ensure any site issues are resolved promptly to avoid delays
• Ensure proper implementation of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) guidelines, conducting toolbox meetings & enforcing safety compliance at all times
• Provide technical guidance to contractors & field teams, ensuring adherence to best practices & industry standards
• Coordinate with telecom network deployment teams to align civil works with installation & integration schedules.

Requirements:

• 5–7 years’ proven experience as a Telecom Civil Works Site Engineer, preferably with major telecom operators or infrastructure companies
• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Strong understanding of telecom site build processes: greenfield, rooftop & upgrade projects
• Solid knowledge of foundation design, tower erection, fencing, earthing, trenching & structural integrity requirements
• Excellent ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, structural designs & technical specifications
• Familiarity with Nigerian telecom construction standards, regulatory requirements & environmental guidelines
• Proficiency in project management, documentation, reporting & site supervision
• Strong communication, leadership & stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple sites & meet strict project deadline
• High attention to detail, with strong problem-solving abilities
• Professional certifications (COREN, PMP or telecom deployment certifications) are an added advantage
• Must be physically fit & willing to travel to multiple sites as required.
