Role Description The System Administrator role at Ignite Humanity is a full-time, on-site position based in Oyo State, Nigeria. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, workstations, and network devices to ensure stable and secure operations. Daily tasks include monitoring system performance, managing user accounts and access permissions, performing backups, and applying updates and patches. The System Administrator will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, providing technical support to internal users and resolving incidents in a timely manner. The role also involves implementing IT best practices, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with other team members to improve the organization’s technology infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Strong System Administration skills, including server and workstation configuration, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to provide effective Troubleshooting and Technical Support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Proficiency in Network Administration, including managing routers, switches, firewalls, and basic network security controls.
- Solid foundation in Information Technology principles, operating systems, and common enterprise applications.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, Cisco) are beneficial.
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions, system security practices, and access management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and clear documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site, communicate clearly with non-technical users, and manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
