One (1) of our clients in the Industrial Machinery Manufacturing is recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager. This role is responsible for leading procurement, inventory, and logistics functions with a focus on strategic planning, performance monitoring, and cost efficiency. It involves supplier negotiation, cross-functional collaboration, compliance with standards, and continuous improvement of supply chain practices to support business goals and operational resilience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement, inventory management, and logistics, establishing targets and monitoring performance to ensure operational efficiency.
- Monitor KPI and provide strategic tools and initiatives for achieving them.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers, vendors, and freight forwarders, both locally and internationally.
- Develop accurate materials cost forecasts and maintain a standard cost list to guide budget planning.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to identify and qualify suppliers that meet company standards and requirements.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available as needed while preventing stockouts or overstock situations.
- Generate regular performance reports, including spend analysis, savings achievements, and potential savings for forecasts and budgets.
- Review and update supply chain practices in alignment with evolving environmental policies, standards, and regulations.
- Assess storage and handling equipment needs, optimizing stacking levels for efficient loading, unloading, and storage of materials.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities through both desktop research and on-site assessments to ensure quality and reliability.
- Build a more diverse supplier base for various material categories.
- Continuously monitor supplier performance and implement improvement strategies as necessary.
- Identify opportunities for reusing or recycling materials to enhance sustainability and reduce waste.
Competencies and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management or related roles, with a proven track record in procurement and logistics.
- Relevant certifications in supply chain management (e.g., Sigma 6, Lean Certification, CIPS, APICS) are a plus.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships, with knowledge of local and international markets.
- Proficient in supply chain management software tools e.g ERP
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, environmental standards, and sustainability practices in supply chain management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
