Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, develop, review, and update structural drawings, construction details, layouts, calculations, sketches, and technical documentation as required.
  • Provide structural design input and practical engineering solutions for assigned works.
  • Support early-stage project planning by reviewing site conditions, proposed layouts, technical feasibility, construction risks, and required engineering inputs.
  • Act as a multi-disciplinary technical support officer where required, including basic coordination around MEP routes, drainage, civil works, finishes, site layout, and buildability.
  • Work with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, quantity surveyors, procurement teams, and Management to ensure project plans are technically realistic and properly coordinated.
  • Supervise assigned structural, civil, and construction works from planning through execution and completion.
  • Ensure that work done on site aligns with approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, project requirements, and Management expectations.
  • Confirm that foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concrete works, columns, beams, slabs, steel members, block works, roofing elements, drainage works, and other structural or civil elements are executed properly.
  • Inspect and verify materials used for construction, including steel, concrete, blocks, aggregates, cement, fittings, embedded items, and other relevant materials.
  • Ensure that critical works are not covered, concealed, cast, buried, plastered, or closed without inspection, photo evidence, and approval.
  • Review contractor technical submissions, work methods, material proposals, drawing comments, and technical explanations.
  • Identify design conflicts, construction gaps, poor workmanship, safety risks, material defects, and contractor performance issues. Escalate technical concerns immediately with clear recommendations, not vague observations.
  • Provide technical input before procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services where quality, suitability, or engineering performance is involved.
  • Support basic project sequencing by advising on the order of works, dependencies, technical blockers, and site readiness.
  • Prepare site inspection reports, technical reports, drawing comments, defect logs, photo reports, and project updates for Management.
  • Track unresolved site issues, recurring defects, contractor failures, and corrective actions until closure.
  • Attend project review meetings and provide clear updates on progress, risks, blockers, required approvals, and next steps. Advise Management on whether works should proceed, pause, be corrected, rejected, redesigned, or escalated to external specialists.
  • Maintain proper technical records, including drawings reviewed, approvals, inspection photos, site instructions, comments, issue logs, test results, and close-out notes.
  • Support the creation of internal project systems, templates, checklists, inspection forms, and reporting structures for the Engineering Department.
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others on site. Intervene to stop unsafe acts, poor workmanship, or technical practices that may endanger people, property, assets, or the Group’s reputation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

  • Ability to prepare, review, and interpret structural drawings, technical details, layouts, sections, schedules, and construction notes.
  • Experience across different categories of construction, engineering, infrastructure, real estate, or project delivery environments.
  • Preference should be given to candidates who have worked in large, established, reputable, or multinational organizations.
  • Strong understanding of structural systems, construction methods, foundations, reinforced concrete, steel works, block works, roofing systems, drainage, basic MEP coordination, material specifications, and site quality control.
  • Ability to provide practical technical input on layout, space planning, services routing, construction sequencing, and site execution where required.
  • Ability to identify poor workmanship, unsafe practices, drawing conflicts, structural risks, material concerns, and execution gaps.
