Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Research upcoming sporting events and matchups
- Analyze recent team and player performance
- Review home and away records
- Research injuries, suspensions, roster changes, and expected lineups
- Analyze scoring trends, defensive performance, and head-to-head history
- Review advanced soccer statistics such as xG, xGA, shots, possession, and scoring patterns
- Review baseball statistics such as starting pitchers, bullpen performance, recent hitting, and run production
- Compare statistical trends across different teams, leagues, and competitions
- Evaluate probability-based outcomes and identify the strongest data-supported selections
- Rank matchups by confidence level
- Explain the reasoning behind each conclusion clearly and concisely
- Identify games where data is conflicting, unreliable, or too risky, do not force a selection when the data doesn't support one
- Review multiple selections and identify weaker or higher-risk choices
- Monitor selected live events during the shift window and reassess analysis based on changing game conditions (e.g. lineup changes, early scoring, injuries)
- Maintain organized spreadsheets of research, predictions, confidence levels, and results
- Track performance by sport, league, and type of prediction
- Review past results to identify patterns and improve future analysis
- Prepare a daily shortlist of the strongest researched opportunities, with a brief written rationale for each entry
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Sports Science, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in data analysis, sports analysis, research, statistics, or a related role
- Strong understanding of soccer and sports performance
- Ability to interpret statistics, probabilities, trends, and historical data
- Strong research and critical-thinking skills
- Good knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
- Ability to organize data and present findings clearly
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely
