Slitting Machine Operator

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor slitting machines efficiently and safely.
• Set up slitting machines according to job specifications and production requirements.
• Load and position film rolls correctly on the machine.
• Set machine parameters, including speed, tension, and cutting width.
• Slit large rolls of packaging film into specified widths and roll sizes.
• Monitor the slitting process to ensure consistent product quality.
• Inspect finished rolls for defects, proper width, winding, and overall quality.
• Identify and troubleshoot common slitting machine and production issues.
• Minimise material waste and machine downtime.
• Carry out routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate production records and report machine faults promptly.
• Work closely with the Production, Quality Control, and Maintenance teams.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and production procedures.
• Meet daily production targets while maintaining required quality standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years' proven experience operating slitting machines.
• Experience in flexible packaging, polythene, nylon, plastic, or film manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of slitting processes, machine setup, tension control, and roll handling.
• Ability to set cutting widths and machine parameters accurately.
• Ability to troubleshoot common slitting machine and production issues.
• Good understanding of quality control and finished roll inspection.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Relevant technical qualification or certification is an added advantage.
