Site Acquisition Officer
Job summary
The Site Acquisition Officer is responsible for identifying and securing new sites for mini-grid development. This is a field-based and target-driven role, requiring strong community engagement skills, good local knowledge, and the ability to operate independently in rural areas.

Responsibilities:
Site Identification & Acquisition:
- Identify and assess potential communities for mini-grid deployment
- Secure initial commitments for the project with target communities
Community Engagement:
- Engage with village leaders and key stakeholders
- Secure community commitment to the project
Field Data Collection:
- Execute preliminary assessment on all the identified sites
- Collect preliminary site data
Coordination & Reporting:
- Work closely with the Field Supervisors and the Community management team
- Submit weekly activity reports
- Submit structured site reports in WeLight format
Compliance & Conduct:
- Follow WeLight’s site acquisition processes and approval protocols
Requirements:
- Based in and indigenous to the state
- Strong knowledge of local communities and territory
- Ability to travel extensively within rural areas
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet targets
- Basic data collection skills (GPS, smartphone usage, photos)
- Basic Knowledge of GIS tools
