Job Summary

As a Snr. Social Media Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the social media presence of a brand or organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies, creating engaging content, managing social media accounts, monitoring performance, and engaging with the online community.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Create content for your assigned channels (including news articles, listicles, memes and other content) while ensuring:
  • Proper management of Pulse Nigeria's social media pages; create, curate, and distribute content relevant to the target audience across all assigned social media channels; ensuring proper content distribution, proper use of channels' features, and community management following standard execution guidelines.
  • Community management - daily spam check across the channels; approving comments when necessary and quick response/monitoring of direct messages following guidelines
  • Trend monitoring across channels using social media tools such as Hootsuite, CrowdTangle, etc. and ensure time-to-market for the content distribution is efficien
  • Complete reports - social media weekly, general monthly online marketing report and traffic analysis report when necessary.
  • Develop high-quality video content for Pulse Nigeria's social media platforms (Interviews, vox pops, strivias etc )
  • Create posts for special campaigns (clients) when necessary on all social media channels and compile reports for analysis.
  • Proper implementation of Pulse Content Framework - to be used as a guide for all posts and updated when necessary.
  • Ensure all social media posts are correctly UTM tagged for tracking.
  • Become an advocate for the Company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answer questions where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate ability to map out marketing strategies and then drive that strategy proven by testing and metrics.
  • Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding the business - Report notable threats to appropriate management.
  • Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the social media campaigns.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analyze, review and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
  • Keep up to date, research and suggest new social media account management tools.
  • Event coverage for Pulse Nigeria & Pulse clients based on communicated briefs; cover events highlights and distribute content across relevant channels & provide performance reports.
  • Collaborate with other teams: Editorial, Video, and Sales teams to achieve company wide goals.
  • Support the Head of Social Media and Head of Marketing to actively propose and help implement new and innovative strategies in order to meet and exceed the company's overall revenue and profit targets.
  • Overall management and administration of your assigned channels, including managing follower growth, commercialisation, follower engagement, and general look/feel of the channel.


Skills:

  • Social Media Strategy: Ability to develop and execute social media strategies that align with business objectives and target audience needs.
  • Proficiency in creating engaging and relevant content for social media platforms, including text, images, videos, and graphics.
  • Experience in managing social media accounts, monitoring comments, responding to inquiries, and engaging with followers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ability to track and analyze social media metrics, interpret insights, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize performance and achieve KPIs.
  • Familiarity with various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Strong creative thinking skills, with the ability to generate innovative ideas and concepts for social media content and campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey messages clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in social media algorithms, trends, and best practices, and pivot strategies accordingly to stay relevant and effective
  • Collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and customer service, to ensure alignment and consistency in brand messaging and initiatives.
