Naturally, the candidate is expected to understand and participate in maintenance plans that will ensure no breakdowns and minimal downtime. The candidate needs to be someone who enjoys mentoring and improving the skills of those around who know less without dismissal or insult.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Packaging Specialist Engineer, located in Sagamu. The specialist will oversee the operations of a wide range of packaging machines for biscuits. Responsibilities include managing packaging processes, implementing preventative maintenance plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and most importantly, massively improve packaging efficiency. All this while collaborating with cross-functional teams such as production and quality control.
Required experience
Minimum 10 years experience in high-speed packaging machinery
Strong experience in biscuit or snack packaging operations
Experience with Quality Control processes.
Experience managing 40+ packaging machines simultaneously
Ability to build and manage preventative maintenance plans.
Proven ability to reduce packaging rework below 3%
Excellent organizational skills
Good communication and team collaboration abilities
Required Technical Competencies
Horizontal flow pack/pillow pack systems
Autofeed and sandwiching systems
Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) machines
Seal jaw temperature control and tuning
Film tension and dancer systems
Servo drive synchronization
Conveyor timing and stack control
Film tracking and registration systems
Changeover optimization
Root cause mechanical troubleshooting
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
