Senior Factory Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

Factory Operations Management:

• Lead and oversee all daily factory operations to ensure maximum productivity and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Monitor plant performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure effective utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and production resources.
• Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
• Ensure production targets are consistently achieved.

Production Management:

• Oversee production planning and execution.
• Ensure production schedules are met without compromising quality.
• Monitor production efficiency and machine utilization.
• Minimize downtime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Optimize production costs while maintaining product quality.
• Collaborate with Production Planning and Control (PPC) to ensure a seamless workflow.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control:

• Ensure all products meet internal and customer quality specifications.
• Collaborate with the QA/QC team to maintain robust quality systems.
• Lead investigations into quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Drive a culture of zero defects and continuous quality improvement.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and other relevant quality management systems.

Engineering & Maintenance Oversight:

• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Ensure all factory equipment operates at optimal efficiency.
• Minimize equipment breakdowns through proactive maintenance planning.
• Support capital expenditure planning for new equipment and upgrades.
• Improve equipment reliability and operational uptime.

Supply Chain & Inventory Management;

• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
• Optimize inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and overstocking.
• Ensure proper inventory control procedures.
• Monitor material consumption and wastage.

Cost Management:

• Prepare and manage factory operational budgets.
• Monitor manufacturing costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Improve operational efficiency without compromising quality or safety.
• Reduce production waste and improve yield.
• Analyze operational reports to improve profitability.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):

• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the factory.
• Ensure all employees comply with safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents and implement preventive actions.

People Management:

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop department managers and supervisors.
• Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive employee engagement and operational discipline.
• Support succession planning and talent development.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain compliance with SON, NAFDAC (where applicable), NESREA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness.
• Support internal and external audits.

Continuous Improvement:

• Implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Drive productivity improvement projects.
• Reduce production cycle times.
• Improve operational KPIs.
• Lead process optimization initiatives across departments.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a BSC
• 7 years of previous experience in a similar role
