As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, including cost estimation, budgeting, and procurement. This position requires a strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management principles, and excellent analytical skills.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the quantity surveying team and overseeing all aspects of cost management for construction projects.
  • Conducting detailed cost estimates and preparing tender documents for project bids.
  • Analyzing project specifications and drawings to identify and quantify materials, labor, and other costs.
  • Developing and maintaining project budgets, monitoring costs, and identifying areas for cost savings or value engineering.
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor payment applications and invoices in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Providing financial reporting and analysis to project stakeholders, including progress reports, cost forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Managing change orders and claims and assessing their impact on project costs and schedules.
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate project risks.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize project delivery and achieve cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards related to quantity surveying and cost management


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost management for construction projects, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Leadership and team management abilities, with a collaborative and proactive approach to achieving project goals.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as needed.
