Job Description

Main duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Present the company, BD products and technical information to prospect and current clients 
  • Identify ways to improve the performance and profitability of the farm by the implementation of products 
  • Providing advice on farm design and equipment layout 
  • Manage territory goals by prospecting, following up, and maintaining clients 
  • Conduct customer field research studies 
  • Negotiating price and payment terms and resolving customer issues. 
  • Analyze trial data and authoring technical sales presentations and reports 
  • Present our company to potential clients (Conferences, Tradeshows, Web Meetings, etc.) 
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients 
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market 
  • Conduct demos of technology and value offering 
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services and technology offerings 
  • Follow up on payments for accounts 
  • Seek an authoritative point of contact for the industry sector 
  • Identify and build new sales channels 
  • Increase sales substantially with matching growth in gross profit 

Required skills and qualifications, experience: 

Educational Qualification Required: 

  • University graduate (BSc.business management, agricultural sciences or related field) 

Minimum Experience Required: 

  • 3-5+years’ experienced as a Sales Manager, preferably in Technical livestock equipment sales layer/broiler 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Hands-on experience with selling to a cold prospect (you have the endurance to withstand all the people saying “no” to find the person who says “yes”) 
  • Experience with CRM software 
  • Experience with MS Excel & PowerPoint (developing/analyzing spreadsheets, charts and presentations) 
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics 
  • Extensive commercial “solutions” and negotiating skills and experience including services agreements and multi-client agreements specific to Nigeria and Sub Saharan market 
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations 
  • Self-starter self-disciplined and target focussed but able to work in a team matrix environment.
