Resident Medical Lab Technician

Responsibilities:

• Conduct lab tests accurately and efficiently, covering haematology, microbiology and biochemistry.
• Preparation of specimens for analysis, ensuring proper labelling and documentation.
• Operation and maintenance of lab equipment, troubleshooting and performance of routine maintenance.
• Ensure test quality following lab policies and procedures.
• Analyze and report findings to healthcare providers promptly.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for patient care coordination.
• Manage lab supplies inventory and assist with ordering.
• Maintain safety protocols and a clean workspace.
• Stay updated with advances in lab technology through training and education.

Requirements:

• Certification as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or equivalent.
• Previous experience in clinical lab work preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Detail oriented and committed to quality
• Proficiency in the use of lab equipment.
• Knowledge of lab safety protocols
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Working conditions:

• Free standard accommodation is provided on site.
• You will work in a lab within a medical facility, handling biohazardous materials.
• You should expect to stand or sit for long periods and occasionally lift heavy objects while adhering to safety measures.

Salary and benefits: NGN 40,000 per month which could increase as time goes on.

• Annual leave of 2 weeks per annum, or payment in lieu as preferred.
