Reporter Researcher

Responsibilities:

• Research and identify relevant news stories and development issues across Nigeria's 774 Local Government Areas.
• Conduct interviews, investigations and field reporting.
• Gather, verify and analyse information from credible sources.
• Write accurate news reports, features, interviews and investigative stories.
• Monitor government policies, projects and grassroots development initiatives.
• Identify story angles and generate original editorial ideas.
• Conduct fact-checking and verify claims, figures and official records.
• Build relationships with government officials, community leaders and relevant stakeholders.
• Submit well-researched stories within editorial deadlines.
• Collaborate with editors and other newsroom personnel to produce quality content.

Requirements:

• HND in Mass Communication, Journalism, Political Science or a related field.
• Relevant experience in journalism, reporting or research.
• Excellent writing, interviewing and communication skills.
• Strong investigative, analytical and fact-checking abilities.
• Good knowledge of Nigerian governance and current affairs.
• Ability to conduct independent research and field assignments.
• Familiarity with digital journalism and online research tools.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ethical reporting.
