Quantity Surveyor
Job summary
KDN+ LLC is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Quantity Land Surveyor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting land surveys, preparing survey reports, measuring land boundaries, and supporting project planning and development activities.

Responsibilities:
Pre-Construction & Estimating:
- Conducting initial financial studies to determine if a proposed development is economically viable.
- Analyzing architectural and engineering designs to measure the exact quantities of required materials, labor, and time.
- Preparing detailed documents that outline all materials and tasks to give contractors an accurate basis for bidding.
Tendering & Procurement:
- Compiling tender packages, soliciting bids from contractors and suppliers, and evaluating which bids offer the best value.
- Helping draft and negotiate building contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC) to establish pricing, timelines, and legal liabilities.
Construction Phase & Cost Control:
- Regularly visiting construction sites to measure completed work and approve progress payments to subcontractors.
- Evaluating and negotiating the costs of any changes or design alterations made during the build.
- Continually monitoring the project’s cash flow and updating senior stakeholders on budget deviations.
Post-Construction Final:
- Settling all financial accounts at the end of the project to ensure both the client and contractors have been paid accurately according to the contract.
- Providing contractual advice and technical evidence to resolve any commercial or contractual claims.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Surveying and Geoinformatics, Quantity Surveying, Land Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in surveying equipment such as GPS, Total Station, and GIS software.
- Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Ability to interpret maps, drawings, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Professional certification or membership with a recognized surveying body is an added advantage.
- Experience with AutoCAD and surveying software.
- Knowledge of construction and land development projects.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
