Job Summary
The Quality Control Officer will ensure that all products manufactured meet established quality and safety standards. The role involves inspecting raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods; enforcing compliance with food-grade safety standards; and ensuring adherence to quality control procedures in plastics manufacturing .

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality inspections on raw materials (resins, colorants, additives), in-process production, and finished products to ensure conformity with company and regulatory standards.
- Monitor critical parameters during production, such as wall thickness, weight, clarity, color, and dimensional accuracy of plastic products.
- Implement and maintain Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), including HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 requirements.
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) within the production and packaging areas.
- Maintain and calibrate quality control equipment (e.g., thickness gauges, torque testers, compression testers, CO₂ testers).
- Document inspection results, maintain test records, and generate daily/weekly quality performance reports.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes when quality deviations or nonconformities occur.
- Support training of production staff on hygiene, product handling, and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with NAFDAC, SON (Standards Organisation of Nigeria), and other regulatory requirements for plastic products used in food contact applications.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to monitor machine cleanliness, product contamination risks, and changeover procedures.
- Perform line clearance checks, random sampling, and in-process testing to prevent cross-contamination.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an OND / ND in Science or Engineering-related discipline (Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Food Technology or Microbiology).
- Additional training or certification in Quality Assurance, Food Safety (HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of quality control experience in a plastics manufacturing or food packaging environment.
- Practical experience implementing food safety and hygiene standards in a production setting.
- Familiarity with PET preform or plastic container manufacturing processes (injection and blow molding).
- Strong understanding of quality documentation, batch traceability, and regulatory audits.
- Skilled in sampling, testing, and statistical quality control (SQC) methods.
- Attention to detail and commitment to product safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Good communication, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and data documentation tools.
Salary: NGN 180,000 – 250,000
Location: Ogun Free Trade Zone (Candidates should be in proximity to the location)
