Project Engineer
Job summary
The role is responsible for leading the technical development, construction, and operationalization of a gas infrastructure project, specifically a CNG/LNG Plant. The Project Engineer provides end-to-end engineering oversight, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, safety, and value optimization throughout project lifecycles.

Responsibilities:
Project Development & Engineering Leadership:
- Lead the front-end engineering design (FEED), detailed engineering, and technical specification development of gas infrastructure projects.
- Evaluate and optimize technology options for compression, gas storage, transport logistics, and decompression systems.
- Ensure that all engineering designs are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and aligned with project business cases.
Owner’s Engineering Oversight:
- Serve as the technical custodian of the project, ensuring that the EPC contractor’s engineering deliverables meet contractual, regulatory, and performance requirements.
- Conduct rigorous technical reviews and provide approval for key design documents (e.g., PFDs, P&IDs, layout drawings, HAZOP reports).
- Manage technical interfaces between project stakeholders – including OEMs, transport operators, and utilities.
Project Implementation
- Support project execution by providing real-time engineering advice during procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
- Ensure integration of safety, operability, and maintainability in design and implementation.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and performance validation processes.
Regulatory and Compliance Assurance
- Ensure engineering designs and construction activities comply with all applicable industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DPR/NUPRC, NSI, ASME, API).
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to secure necessary approvals and permits.
Operational Readiness & Handover
- Lead the development of operating manuals, maintenance strategies, and training programs for plant operations teams.
- Coordinate system integration and performance testing to ensure facilities are ready for commercial operation
- Provide technical support during the early operations phase and troubleshoot initial 1 performance challenges.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in gas infrastructure project engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead engineering role.
- Proven experience with virtual pipeline systems (CNG or LNG), gas compression, transportation, and decompression facilities.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards (e.g., ASME, API, NFPA, ISO).
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams and interface with contractors and regulators.
- Professional Engineering License or certification (e.g., COREN, PMP, PE) is an advantage.
