Job descriptions & requirements
· Research, keep up to date on global and national trends on housing rights and public safety, monitor policy developments, security and key human rights issues affecting the urban poor, rural communities, marginalised groups, informal settlements and the informal sector.
· Design and implement a wide range of research initiatives and advocacy campaigns to push back against forced evictions, forced displacements and the insecurity of tenure.
· Lead and support dissemination of research findings to reach a broader and diverse audience, cutting across policy, civil society, academia, media, governmental and non-governmental entities.
· Conduct awareness-creation programs, policy dialogues with decision-makers, and outreaches in urban and rural communities to deepen citizen engagement in urban governance as well as a wide range of crucial economic, social and political issues.
· Facilitating community policing, conducting civic education on housing rights, conduct needs assessments and implementing programs that support tenure protection and urban renewal for marginalized communities.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2.1. Bachelors’ degree plus four years relevant experience in fields at intersection of law, public administration, international development, economics, human rights,etc..
Excellent writing, research and communication skills. Research capability is a MUST. Evidence of past research efforts must be provided.
Very strong organizational skills and ability to track multiple simultaneous projects and initiatives
