Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily production system of our cassava processing facilities. This includes managing the production process, ensuring high standards of quality efficiency, quality assurance, and coordinating the production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural product processing, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Production Operations: Oversee the entire production process to ensure efficient and timely processing of agricultural products.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control standards to ensure products meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and supervise the production team, ensuring high levels of performance and morale.
  • Resource Management: Manage resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment, to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain production reports, including output, quality, and downtime metrics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of the production budget.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Industrial Engineering, Food Science, or Food production or a related field.
  • Proven experience hands-on supervisory/mid management experience in a production management role, preferably in an agricultural product processing environment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of agricultural processing techniques, equipment, and quality control standards;


Skills:

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively coordinate team members at all levels.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in production management or quality control are a plus.


Location:
 Owerri.


Remuneration: NGN
400,000 with accommodation.
