Product & Content Marketing Lead
Job descriptions & requirements
Salary: ₦400k–₦600k/month
Location: Remote
Help us market the selling machine for African merchants.
African businesses don't just need another place to list products.
They need a better way to sell.
A merchant spends money bringing people in through Instagram, WhatsApp, ads, influencers and her website.
Then the real battle starts.
Someone asks “how much last?” and disappears.
Another adds products to her bag but never checks out.
A customer buys once and nobody deliberately brings her back.
The physical shop sells something the website still thinks is available.
Orders, stock, staff, customers, deliveries and money are moving every day... but the owner still struggles to see what is really working.
Bizthom is built to change that.
Bizthom is the selling machine for African merchants.
It helps businesses:
CONVERT the customer standing in front of them.
CHASE the ones who almost bought but slipped away.
KEEP customers coming back — and bringing others.
RUN the daily work behind selling, online and in-store.
KNOW what is happening across customers, traffic, stock, staff and money.
Now we need someone obsessed with helping the market understand why that matters.
The Role
We’re hiring a Product & Content Marketing Lead.
You’ll work directly with the founder and closely with Product, Merchant Success and our customers.
Your job is to:
Understand what we’re building.
Understand who we’re building it for.
Then make the connection impossible to miss.
When we ship a new feature, we don't just want someone asking:
“What should we post?”
We need someone asking:
Who really needs this? What problem is it solving? Why should they care? How should we position it?What should the landing page say?How do we demonstrate it?How do we get prospects to want it — and existing merchants to actually use it?
Then you help us ship the marketing.
What You’ll DoProduct Marketing
You’ll help shape how Bizthom and its products are understood.
That includes:
- Customer and market research
- Product positioning and messaging
- Landing and feature page copy
- Product launches
- Competitive positioning
- Onboarding and product education
- Campaigns that increase feature adoption
Your job is not to dump features on people.
It is to find the customer value hiding underneath them.
Content Marketing
You’ll turn those insights into marketing people actually want to consume.
You may create:
- Video scripts
- Emails
- Landing pages
- Campaign concepts
- Carousels
- Merchant stories
- Product demos
- Webinar narratives
- Founder-led content
We’re not hiring you to keep a content calendar busy.
Content should create demand, explain the product, teach the market or move someone towards action.
Product Adoption
Your responsibility doesn’t end when someone signs up.
If merchants aren't discovering an important feature, we want to understand why.
If people keep misunderstanding something, that's partly a marketing problem.
If merchants sign up but don't reach the point where Bizthom becomes valuable to them, we need to understand that journey.
You’ll work with Product and Merchant Success to improve activation, feature discovery and adoption.
This Role Is NOT
It is not a Social Media Manager role.
If your first response to every new feature is “let's make a flyer,” this probably isn't for you.
It is not a PowerPoint-only Product Marketing role either.
We’re still an early team.
Sometimes you’ll develop the positioning in the morning and write the landing page that afternoon.
We need someone who can think and do.
You’ll Probably Be Great At This If…
You are a very strong writer.
Not big-grammar strong.
Clear strong.
You can understand something complicated and explain it simply.
You are curious about why customers buy — and why they don't.
You are commercially minded. You care about signups, activation, usage, retention and revenue — not just reach and engagement.
You like products. You enjoy figuring out how things work and finding the customer story inside them.
You can work without a perfect brief.
You move fast.
And you take ownership.
Eventually, we want you to be the person saying:
“We launched this three weeks ago and adoption is weak. I looked into it. Here's what I think is happening and what we should try.”
Your Background
You don't need to currently have “Product Marketing Manager” in your job title.
You may be a:
- Product Marketer
- Content Marketer
- Marketing Manager
- Content Strategist
- Growth Marketer
- Creative Strategist
- Copywriter/Strategist
- Founding Marketer
We care more about how you think and what you can produce than the title your last employer gave you.
