Procurement Officer
Job summary
The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of goods and services required for the organization’s operations. The role ensures cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, quality assurance, and compliance with company policies while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.

Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery performance.
- Obtain and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing and value for money.
- Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders (POs), and other procurement documents.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and contract conditions with suppliers.
- Coordinate the timely procurement and delivery of goods and services.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the Store/Inventory team to ensure stock availability.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and contract documentation.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues.
- Liaise with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements and specifications.
- Verify that purchased items meet required quality standards and specifications.
- Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, and expenditure summaries.
- Support budget control by monitoring procurement costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Perform any other procurement-related duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration and Logistics or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIPS, CIPSMN, or equivalent is an added advantage.
