Painter

Responsibilities:

• Prepare walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and other surfaces for painting.
• Clean, scrape, sand, fill, and smooth surfaces before applying paint.
• Apply primers, paints, varnishes, stains, and other protective coatings.
• Mix and match paints to achieve required colours and finishes.
• Use brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other painting equipment effectively.
• Apply paint evenly and ensure smooth, neat, and professional finishes.
• Carry out interior and exterior painting works on residential, commercial, and construction projects.
• Repair cracks, holes, peeling paint, and other surface defects before painting.
• Protect furniture, floors, fixtures, and other areas from paint spills and damage.
• Follow project specifications, colour schemes, and instructions from supervisors or clients.
• Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials in good condition.
• Estimate paint and material requirements and minimize wastage.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Work closely with POP installers, tilers, carpenters, electricians, and other construction workers.
• Complete painting projects within agreed timelines and required quality standards.

Requirements:

• Proven years of practical painting experience.
• Proven experience in residential, commercial, or construction painting.
• Good knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques.
• Ability to mix and match colours accurately.
• Skilled in using brushes, rollers, spray machines, and other painting tools.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent finishing skills.
• Good knowledge of different types of paints, primers, and coatings.
• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights when required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time-management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Trade certification or apprenticeship training in painting is an advantage.
