Outreach & Partnerships Officer
Job summary
We are seeking someone who understands how to identify opportunities, build relationships, secure partnerships, generate leads, and convert prospects into paying customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to increase visibility, grow our startup ecosystem, attract paying clients, and develop sustainable revenue streams.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify and engage startup founders across Africa
- Build and maintain a pipeline of startup leads
- Conduct outreach through email, LinkedIn, startup communities, and events
- Present TechPolyp's visibility and promotional solutions to prospective clients
- Convert startup founders into paying customers
Partnerships & Ecosystem Development:
- Establish relationships with incubators, accelerators, innovation hubs, venture capital firms, and startup communities
- Source partnership opportunities that increase TechPolyp's visibility and commercial opportunities
- Coordinate founder interviews and partnership initiatives
Revenue Generation:
- Drive sales of startup visibility packages
- Promote sponsored content opportunities
- Support startup sourcing and research services
- Help secure sponsorships for reports, newsletters, events, and ecosystem initiatives
- Meet agreed monthly revenue targets
Marketing & Distribution:
- Manage and grow TechPolyp's LinkedIn presence
- Assist with newsletter growth initiatives
- Support social media distribution activities
- Promote newly published startup stories and ecosystem content
Startup Directory Growth:
- Recruit startups to join the TechPolyp Startup Directory
- Convert free users into premium listings
- Assist founders in completing and optimizing their startup profiles
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong relationship-building ability
- Experience in sales, partnerships, business development, community growth, or startup ecosystem engagement
- Ability to work independently and meet targets
- Familiarity with LinkedIn outreach and email marketing
- Strong organizational and reporting skills
- Experience working with startups, technology companies, innovation hubs, media organizations, or venture ecosystems
- Knowledge of African startup ecosystems
- Experience using CRM tools
- Experience in sponsorship acquisition or business development
