Operations / Workshop Manager
Job summary
The Operations / Workshop Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day running of ROADMECH’s workshop operations. This role ensures jobs are executed efficiently, safely, and profitably while maintaining high technical standards, strong team discipline, proper workflow, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
Workshop Operations & Job Control:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all workshop activities and job schedules.
- Assign jobs to technicians based on skill level and workload.
- Ensure all jobs are opened, tracked, and closed using approved job cards.
- Monitor job progress, turnaround time, and quality of workmanship.
- Ensure vehicles are properly tested and inspected before delivery.
Team Supervision & Performance Management:
- Supervise technicians, apprentices, and workshop support staff.
- Enforce discipline, punctuality, safety rules, and standard operating procedures.
- Coach technicians on diagnostics, repair logic, and best practices.
- Evaluate staff performance and recommend training or disciplinary action where necessary.
Quality Control & Technical Oversight:
- Ensure all repairs meet ROADMECH quality and safety standards.
- Review complex diagnostics and approve major repair decisions.
- Reduce comebacks, reworks, and customer complaints.
- Ensure correct tools, procedures, and repair information are used.
Inventory, Cost & Resource Control:
- Work closely with inventory and procurement teams to ensure parts availability.
- Ensure parts issued match actual jobs carried out.
- Minimize wastage, misuse of parts, and unnecessary replacements.
- Monitor workshop expenses and labor efficiency.
Customer & Management Coordination:
- Liaise with the Sales/Front Desk team on job approvals, timelines, and pricing.
- Communicate technical findings clearly to customers when required.
- Provide daily and weekly operational reports to management.
- Support audits, inspections, and internal reviews.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce workshop safety standards and housekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workshop environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum HND
- 1 year of previous experience in a similar role
