Operations Manager
Job summary
We are seeking versatile Operations Manager with deep expertise in both discrete and process manufacturing methodologies to oversee our daily production environments. In this role, you will be directly managing assembly-based production lines (discrete) as well as formula- or thermal-based conversion streams (process) systems.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Production Management: Oversee day-to-day operations across both discrete assembly setups (parts, routing, work orders) and process operations (batches, mixing, continuous flow, yields).
- Process Optimization: Implement and sustain Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma principles to reduce cycle times, eliminate waste, and minimize batch variances.
- Capacity & Schedule Execution: Partner with supply chain and scheduling teams to execute production plans, seamlessly balancing mechanical setups/changeovers with continuous chemical or thermal runs.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and hold accountable shift supervisors and floor personnel. Foster a culture of cross-training between discrete and process work areas.
- Data-Driven Performance: Monitor and improve shop-floor KPIs, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Scrap/Yield rates, On-Time Delivery (OTD), and labor utilization.
- EHS Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations unique to both heavy machinery operations and chemical/raw material handling.
- Systems Utilization: Leverage ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to track raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory accuracy.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial), Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 2+ years of production leadership experience, with proven exposure to hybrid manufacturing environments (e.g., companies that manufacture a fluid/chemical compound and package it into discrete units).
- Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of the differences in Bill of Materials (BOM) management—specifically structured discrete BOMs vs. process formulas/recipes.
- Systems: Proficiency with advanced ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and MES tools.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a decisive leadership style that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
